The Northern Governance Policy Research Conference

This conference was the first of its kind in the NWT. It brought together an emerging resource of northern researchers to discuss how to connect effective research in the service of policy for Indigenous and community organizations.

During the conference, working groups compiled a series of draft recommendations for policymakers at all levels of government. The NGPRC conference coordinators will be accepting input into these recommendations until mid-December, as well as soliciting support and endorsement from all Aboriginal governments in the NWT (and possibly YT and NU). The coordinators will then seek engagement with Canada and the GNWT (and possibly other governments and agencies responsible for research and funding) beginning in January/Feb 2010.
